UnitedHealth Group is Hiring an Operations Integration Manager - Optum Hybrid Near Phoenix, AZ

The Operations Manager will lead the newly developed team responsible for implementing standardized healthcare processes in acquired facilities. This role will involve working closely with local leadership, frontline staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and alignment with the purchasing healthcare organization's standards and objectives.

This role will work remotely half of the time and onsite in clinics throughout the region (currently AZ & NM - but will evolve based on business needs) - Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal and/or external customers (e.g., business partners; clinical staff; physicians; facilities owners/operators; health plans) to understand and/or resolve issues (e.g., claims resolutions; care delivery issues; enrollment)
  • Gather feedback from internal and/or external customers (e.g., business partners; clinical staff; physicians; facilities owners/operators; health plans) regarding clinical operational performance and effectiveness
  • Provide feedback to internal and/or external customers (e.g., business partners; clinical staff; physicians; facilities owners/operators; health plans) regarding their performance and metrics (e.g., financial performance; quality metrics)
  • Demonstrate understanding of state, federal, and private healthcare guidelines, regulations, procedures, and products (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid; HIPAA; MIPAA)
  • Monitor clinical performance metrics (e.g., MEM; quality metrics) to ensure internal and/or external customer and contract obligations are being met
  • Demonstrate understanding of various operational performance metrics (e.g., medical expense; return on investment; profit and loss; cost targets)
  • Plan/implement corrective actions/solutions to address operational issues and concerns
  • Set/review/modify/provide input into strategic objectives for applicable clinical operations
  • Maintain, facilitate and promote primary care department protocols, processes, policies and standards to include but not limited to the following: Standard Rooming, 5S Exam rooms, Daily Huddles, New and Existing patient management, Medication Refills
  • Prepare reports and manages assigned projects related to the team(s) to include but not limited: Automated Referral, Tasking
  • Ancillary, Huddles, Staff time away from work (PTO, Sick, Training, etc.), Staff job assignment and Scheduling
  • Subject matter expert to include but not limited to Automated Referrals, Standard Work, acquisitions systems, current processes

  • Solid leadership and management skills to effectively lead, guide, and motivate team members.
  • Strategic thinking to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with local leadership, stakeholders, and team members
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, regulations, and quality standards
  • Experience in change management and organizational development
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges during the integration process
  • Conflict resolution skills to address any issues or challenges during the implementation process

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 years operations management experience in clinical healthcare environment
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a complex healthcare environment
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management
  • Experience 'with lean management principles or other process improvement methodologies
  • Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook), Experience with computer based medical record recommended
  • Willing to travel up to 50% throughout the region (currently AZ and NM)

Preferred Qualification:

  • RN with active unrestricted license in the State of Arizona/New Mexico
