Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Producing a monthly product and site level demand forecast and purchase forecast for all Optum Infusion pharmacies and consumable products
  • Create/modify off-cycle forecasts for site openings/closures, patient transfers, supplier changes, new product launches, product discontinuations, recalls, etc.
  • Communicate forecasts to suppliers and internal stakeholders are updates occur
  • Calculate and report forecast accuracy metrics and take appropriate actions to increase forecast accuracy
  • Collaborate with suppliers to gain access to, or develop, predictive analytics to identify potential product shortages and share data with internal stakeholders
  • Maintain critical data files containing various product attributes that drive automated analytics
  • Perform analyses, as requested, to support initiatives and business opportunities, including inventory aging and valuation, supply and demand alignment, fiscal impact of new/updated pricing contracts, etc.
  • Summarize results of analyses to “tell a story” using simple and easy-to-understand formats using PowerPoint
  • Support efforts to develop automated analytics and/or implement new technology to streamline forecasting, planning and supplier collaboration functions
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives by serving as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Cross-train with team members and provide back-up support as requested

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5 years of experience in forecasting across multiple sites
  • 5 years of experience performing intermediate to complex analyses
  • Experience working with numerous and disparate data sets
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Proven to be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proven ability to present complex analyses in simple, summarized views

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with pharmaceuticals and medical surgical supplies
  • Experience with Excel PowerQuery, MS Access or other advanced analytical tools

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
