United Way of Weld County is Hiring an UPK Family Support Navigator Near Greeley, CO

Job DescriptionUPK Family Support Navigator United Way of Weld County Organization OverviewThrough the vision and support of United Way donors and volunteers, together we are building a better Weld County, one where:
  • children are reading to learn by the start of fourth grade
  • youth are working at good jobs by age 25
  • families have stable housing
  • older adults are aging well and
  • people are connecting to the help they need.
OverviewThe UPK Family Support Navigator works with Weld County families to enroll in child care provider programs that are connected with the Colorado Universal Preschool Program (UPK). UPK Family Support Navigators will play a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to families throughout their UPK journey.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with and foster relationships developed by Coordinator with faith communities, schools and school districts, social networks, civic organizations, caregiver support groups, etc., sharing the opportunity for UPK participation and engaging them in UPK outreach.
  • Input data to assist parents and caregivers through the UPK sign-up process.
  • Assist in increasing community familiarity with internal, county, and statewide resources that can support UPK participation.
  • Attend community events, provide one-one-one support to parents and caregivers, and provide information to local organizations that serve families of UPK-age children.
United Way of Weld County General
  • Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of United Way, including representing United Way in professional organizations and the community (as assigned).
  • Support fundraising efforts of United Way and activities that support United Way.
  • Support United Way annual events, disaster response, and other activities as assigned.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in service opportunities.
  • Contribute to organizational promotions including writing promotional copy, proofreading informational and campaign materials, participation in outreach, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to connect work to the big picture.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Advertising and marketing experience, including online and social media, preferred.
  • Ability to handle tasks and prioritize deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with groups and individuals that represent a variety of needs, abilities, socioeconomic backgrounds, educational and early childhood philosophies.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with other employees and supervisors.
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Associates degree or two years of professional experience.
  • Early care and education experience and/or familiar with child care licensure experience/process, preferred.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
POSITION INFORMATION
  • Part-time, non-exempt
  • Salary Range (h3): $16.77 – $18.88 per hour
  • Plus $.48 per hour Spanish speaking differential, if applicable
  • Supervisory duties: no direct reports
  • Reports to: Assistant Director of UPK
  • Eligible for Remote Work: No
  • Background check required
