Position Summary:

We're seeking a highly motivated and organized Surgical Poster Coordinator to join our Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) team. In this vital role, you'll play a key role in orchestrating all aspects of surgical care, acting as a trusted liaison between patients, physicians, hospitals, and other caregivers. You'll be the go-to person for patients, providing them with clear information, answering questions, and addressing concerns throughout their surgical journey, working alongside skilled surgeons, nurses, and other professionals, all committed to delivering exceptional patient experience, identifying, and proactively addressing challenges to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures in the fast-paced energy of our ASC while maintaining a focus on patient well-being.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate scheduling records for surgical procedures, including both operating room (OR) and local procedures within the Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC).
  • Coordinate closely with physicians, surgical staff, and administrative personnel to ensure optimal utilization of physicians' block time, minimizing gaps and maximizing efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing strategies to reduce No-Show Rates, Pre-Operative, and Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) errors through proactive communication and follow-up with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Continuously monitor scheduling processes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance overall operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with various departments to streamline scheduling workflows and address scheduling conflicts.
  • Provide training and support to staff members involved in the scheduling process, ensuring adherence to established procedures and protocols.
  • Utilize scheduling software and systems effectively to track appointments, manage changes, and generate reports for performance analysis and decision-making purposes.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to scheduling practices and patient care documentation.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of surgical posting experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of insurance.
  • Computer proficiency and prior experience with the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is a plus.
  • Urology or surgical experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Proven ability to build relationships and clearly convey information to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to be proactive by anticipating challenges and finding a solution to ensure smooth operations.

  • Ability to multi-task, effectively problem-solve and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current knowledge of acceptable and appropriate clinical practice, quality assurance, and patient management and care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient computer software and database skills.
  • Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and bring forth ideas to enhance positive patient care.
  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Comfortable asking probing questions to patients.
  • Must demonstrate a caring, compassionate, and patient attitude.
  • Maintain & adhere to HIPAA compliance/ regulations.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

  • Must have the ability & willingness to travel to other sites as necessary within a geographic region.

Physical Requirements for the Job:

  • Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting.
  • Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 lbs.
