How you’ll contribute The Senior Manager, Regional Technical Services is responsible for supporting Facilities operations across various locations. This role will manage a team of high functioning individuals providing a variety of services or resources such as Subject Matter Experts (SME), BAS management, advanced troubleshooting, research, program/process development, project management, and more. This role is also responsible for assisting senior leadership with developing and implementing new systems, processes, and workflows. Provide technical support services including, but not limited to supporting plant operations, assisting with advanced troubleshooting of complex systems & equipment, providing technical training, driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & sharing between sites, assisting with complex or labor intensive maintenance events, managing a centralized spare parts, inventory, & purchasing program, managing and operating Building Automation Systems (BAS), performing SOP reviews and revisions, identifying & implementing system/equipment updates or improvements, etc. Maintain routine communications between Tech Services, all assigned support locations, senior facilities leadership, and other stakeholders. In coordination with UT Automation Department manage our Building Automation Systems (BAS) in line with UT SOPs and other requirements. Ensure that all BAS are functioning properly, maintained per any existing service contracts, and any problems are communicated and corrected as quickly as possible. Assist with the development of and transition to a reliability centered maintenance program including the implementation of predictive maintenance functions such as condition monitoring. Perform advanced analytics and provide guidance to optimize reliability strategies addressing failure modes and increasing asset availability. Assist in the development of training programs to advance the skills and knowledge of both Tech Services and Facility Maintenance Teams, enhancing facility reliability Perform analysis of CMMS data to maximize PM effectiveness. Review, upgrade, and standardize protection of critical assets across sites. Ensure Planned Downtime (PDT) is optimized and leveraged by assisting with PDT planning, providing on-site resources to assist with PDT activity execution, and being onsite to help manage tasks and support startup. Provide technical input to support production or clean utilities quality deviation investigations. Support modifications of systems with technical assistance, change control, and procedural & drawing updates. Support regulatory agency inspections. Provide project management and planning functions for projects such as new equipment installation, start-ups, shutdowns/outages, equipment/system overhauls, etc. Participate in other projects as an active member of the project team ensuring standard reliability project design guidance. Provide support to Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Facilities through the operation and maintenance of the BAS for utilities, HVAC, and manufacturing equipment. Utilizing the BAS evaluate the daily function of systems, components, and equipment for the various sites. Coordinate with local Facility Managers to ensure that identified issues are addressed promptly and thoroughly. Direct and manage team to include responsibilities for goal setting, performance reviews/management, coaching, mentoring and career development Other duties as assigned For this role you will need Minimum Requirements H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or Associates Degree and/or equivalent experience may be substituted for technical/vocational training 12 years of manufacturing experience in either maintenance, reliability, and/or engineering (preferably in pharma, bio-tech, cosmetic, or food/beverage industries) with a H.S. Diploma or Associates Degree or 10 years of manufacturing experience in either maintenance, reliability, and/or engineering (preferably in pharma, bio-tech, cosmetic, or food/beverage industries) with a Bachelor's Degree 2 years of experience in a functional area involving HVAC/BAS operations, technology, engineering, or maintenance Ability to conduct highly advanced troubleshooting of MEP/cGMP systems and components to ensure the safe and proper operation and adherence to building and local codes Experience maintaining records and reports (e.g., time sheets, daily work orders, time reports) to provide information and documentation and to comply with departmental policies Intermediate (advanced preferred) knowledge of Building Automation Systems including graphical interfaces, trending, and reporting of HVAC systems for related mechanical systems Extremely proficient working independently on projects or assignments without close supervision or detailed instructions to maximize workplace productivity Demonstrated project management experience Communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Sciences and/or equivalent experience may be substituted for technical/vocational training 2 years of reliability or regional engineering experience in a GMP manufacturing environment. Knowledge of or experience with HVAC testing, commissioning and qualification in GMP environments Proficient cGMP and ISO regulatory knowledge. Ability to adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements defined in Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) Strong program/project management experience Strong mechanical aptitude Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint At United Therapeutics, you’ll realize quickly that it is not an ordinary place to work!
