How you’ll contribute The Security Manager supports the enterprise physical security operations of United Therapeutics Corporation under the direction of the Head of Corporate Security. The Security Manager is responsible for the practical application of technical and manpower systems to provide safe, secure, and accessible workplaces for employees 24 hours per day, seven days a week while also protecting other assets and helping safeguard remote employees in the field. In addition, the position will focus on developing, implementing, and managing security solutions to safeguard the organization's employees, visitors, and assets. This position is based in our RTP, NC office and has a travel expectation of up to 20% in the first year. Oversee the operation of all security guard service operations, as well two Security Operations Centers (SOC) to ensure that protocols for service, both routine and emergency, are addressed in a reasonable manner and maintained to be current with the operation and culture of the business. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the card access control system, digital photo imaging, intrusion protection, internet protocol intercom, and visitor control systems in concert with Operational Technology representatives. Manage the relationship and performance of security guard and technical security providers ensuring superior service is rendered at all times. Manage and assist in maintaining the Symmetry / Symmetry Connect access control database in concert with the System Administrator as designated by Operational Technology. Utilize the system proactively to identify access related issues. Employ the system and the data contained within it to include photo identification. Ensure onboarding and offboarding actions are conducted in a timely manner. Lead or support in coordination with Head of Security on security and risk mitigation strategies and solutions to include travel risk management, threat monitoring/management, mass notification system, crisis response, security training/table top exercises/information, risk management programs, business continuity, physical security assessments, employee consultation, and security intranet page. Manage Open Source Intelligence operations in coordination with the Head of Security. Elevate data for potential issues for review by appropriate parties. Guide the need for further investigation, if needed. Manage Envoy visitor control operations at Silver Spring and the RTP offices and provide visitor management support at remote locations to ensure visits are captured locally. Provide continued evaluation, development, management, and relationship building for remote site Security Champion program. Support investigations and due diligence efforts in conjunction with corporate governance and as required by HR and/or legal business units; review and investigate incident reports as needed. Collaborate with and provide support to business units for policies, procedures and programs as needed. Collaborate with real estate, facilities, architects, consultants, and integrators for maintenance, design, installation of security systems on new projects and office buildouts. Establish and maintain positive relationships with senior leaders and business units to foster cross functional collaboration and inclusion to develop an effective strategy to mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations and safeguard UT facilities, personnel and brand through cost-effective measures. Administer ~$2M in guarding expenditures under the direction of the Head of Security. Responsible for all daily activity, patrol tour and incident reports by way of subordinate contractor reporting. Approve release of information to authorize parties. Create draft security policy and procedure for review by the Head of Security and others. Maintain digital files, reports, and images pertaining to the physical security function and incident reporting. Maintain files, invoices, warranties and other paperwork in regard to security related services rendered and equipment purchased. Manage life cycle recommendations for budgeting purposes. Conduct security awareness training for employees and contractors upon request of assignment. Act as first point of escalation for non-exigent situations brought through security operations intakes. Maintain information beneficial to the safe operation, protection, and recovery of enterprise operations. Support the enterprise on security issues in the absence of senior security leadership. Perform other duties as assigned. For this role you will need Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree with a 8 years of corporate security experience or Associate degree with 8 years of corporate security experience and a security management certification through ASIS (CPP, PSP, PCI, APP) or other relevant industry certifications or H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with 10 years of corporate security experience and a security management certification through ASIS (CPP, PSP, PCI, APP) or other relevant industry certifications. Ability to work a flexible schedule, follow detailed procedures, and have excellent customer service skills; able to work collectively and independent of supervision Demonstrated understanding and use of computer based security technologies Proven corporate and/or military leadership experience First responder skills (Basic First Aid, CPR/AED) and current certification) Creative writing skills to author procedural documents, post orders, training programs and directives Effectively communicate (verbally/writing) and network within all levels of the organization, including briefing management on status of security issues and risk management solutions Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities, complex situations, and customer requirements on an ongoing basis. Strong computer literacy Proficient in MS Office Preferred Qualifications 3 years of operational risk management experience, preferably in a corporate setting and managing personnel 2 years of experience in electronic security systems design/engineering, integration, maintenance, and diagnostic troubleshooting Industrial Security Professional (IS) Security management ASIS (CPP, PSP, PCI, APP) certification or other industry specific certifications relevant to the position.
