United States Senate is Hiring a SPEECHWRITER Near Washington, DC

Democratic Senator from New Jersey is seeking a seasoned speechwriter for a fast-paced, creative office. This position is responsible for crafting or editing for final delivery all remarks given by the Senator in Washington and while in-state including floor remarks, policy, commencement and other major addresses, video scripts, press events and opening remarks for high-level committee hearings. The speechwriter will work with policy and press teams to develop compelling op-eds and other online articles or materials. The position reports to communications director and a successful candidate should expect to work directly with the Senator on message development and execution of all major policy addresses. A minimum five years of experience in writing for senior government officials and/or executives is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with policy experts across issue areas and under tight deadlines a must; experience/interest in foreign affairs is a plus. Applicants with congressional experience and New Jersey ties are especially encouraged to apply. This office is an equal opportunity employer.
