Job Summary:

The Director of Social Services will manage and monitor program services of a shelter based on city, state, requirements

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to refugees, including individual and group support, crisis intervention, and referrals to appropriate resources.
• Manage the daily operations of the shelter, including admissions and discharges, room assignments, and maintenance requests.
• Coordinate and lead activities and programs for residents, such as cultural events, language classes, and job training
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents' information and progress in CARES.
• Work with staff members, including case managers and social workers to provide comprehensive support to residents.
• Represent the shelter at community events and meetings.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing the operation of refugee shelters.

Qualifications:

● Bachelors or Master' degree in Social Services or equivalent experience while working in crises management of a disaster relief organization.

●5-6 years of experience working with refugees or other vulnerable populations

● Strong reporting, interpersonal communication skills

● Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

● Be a team player and flexible to learn and willing to teach others as a part of the team.

● Ability to lead independently and as able to work as a part of a team .

● Knowledge of the refugee experience and relevant laws and regulations

● Fluency in English. Good to have someone with Spanish speaking skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
