United Signs & Signals, Inc. (US&S), a leading provider of road safety solutions since 1994, is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet of trucks and trailers, ensuring they are in top operating condition.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair major components of various truck and trailer equipment, including clutches, PTO systems, electric systems, hydraulic/air brake systems, heating/air conditioning systems, and instruments and gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on trucks, trailers, and construction equipment.
• Maintain work area appearance and safety.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical certification or equivalent experience in vehicle repair preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of shop tools required.
• Must have own tools.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred, willingness to acquire CDL if you do not have one.
• Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required.
• Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
