Position Overview
The Forklift Operator loads, unloads, sorts and moves material using company equipment to achieve company goals, under the direction of the Yard Supervisor. This individual may also receive instructions from other members of the Operations Leadership Team such as the Operations Supervisor, Operations Manger or General Manager.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
· Executes proper receiving procedures and proper distribution of the labor force in order to achieve company business objectives
· Demonstrates constant improvement and positive growth while maintaining targeted levels of profitability within the operation
· Develops long term relationships with fellow team members and executes labor and leadership strategies that are consistent with the corporate vision
· Implements customer oriented operating procedures, standards and benchmarks
· Understands and executes SPCC: Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures, when needed
· Must demonstrate competency in all aspects of the job and company objectives
· Demonstrate understanding of company policies, rules and trainings
· Other duties as assigned
Desired Characteristics
· Must possess basic reading and writing skills in English as well as basic math skills; basic spoken Spanish a plus
· Forklift Trained and Certified with previous forklift driving experience
· Must have the ability to perform the physical tasks of the job such as frequent waking, bending, standing, lifting 50 lbs.; expected to request a “team lift” for over 50 lbs.
