Job Title: Production Scheduler

Department: Indirect Production

Classification: Exempt

Summary: The Production Scheduler is responsible for coordinating the United Safety resources needed to ship Customer Sales Orders on time and complete. The Production Scheduler will use our ERP system to schedule production to meet manufacturing, purchasing and customer requirements. The Scheduler will also manage the proper use of our ERP system to assure inventory accuracy; work with production to suggest and help implement corrective actions necessary to fix any issues.

Responsibilities: As the Production Scheduler you will:

• Utilize the planner workbench to direct and communicate daily schedule of various work centers at United Safety
• Work with Purchasing, Engineering and Customer Service to assure on-time completion of Integrated Project Team tasks.
• Work with Order Entry to check availability of material for sales orders and assure on-time shipment of orders.
• Check availability of all production orders prior to release to the production floor.
• Advise Buyers of any production shortages and expedite material through them to satisfy production needs.
• Assist in investigating inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective action to fix the root cause of the problem.
• Monitor, record, analyze and report on material activities, trends or results, making recommendations relating to non-inventoried supplies.
• Properly use and maintain equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
• Support the materials group on an as needed basis.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain department objectives complementary to company policies and goals.
• Follow all safety and quality standards, procedures and policies.
• Contribute as a team member to Continuous Improvement projects utilizing structured problem-solving skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

You're a great fit for this position if this describes you;

• Associate's degree in Business or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience in Production Scheduling, Inventory Control or Customer Service within a project oriented, manufacturing environment.
• Able to understand and communicate material movement and accounting transactions.
• Capable of effectively conducting and contributing to meetings at any level.
• Able to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings and manuals.
• Proficient in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, Outlook and an understanding of ERP systems, Syteline experience preferred.
• APICS Certification is a plus.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent written communications skills, including the use of proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar to produce error-free copy, particularly composing letters, reports and documents used for decision making.
• Outstanding verbal communication skills including tact and diplomacy which would be utilized during customer service, conflict management, development of relationships with internal and external contact.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and diverse projects including, analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision making and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, while responding and adapting to change favorably and quickly.
