Project Coordinator Job Description
Background on Project:
The Behavioral Health Recovery Services Project is part of the California Department of Health Care Services’ Behavioral Health Response and Rescue Project, which aims to increase access to behavioral health care for all Californians. The overarching goal of the project is to increase the number and quality of culturally responsive behavioral health recovery services and programs statewide that are tailored to local needs. This community-driven process will invest in the development of standards of care that build on the SAMHSA guidance for recovery services and address gaps in services and supports with a focus on higher quality of care for those engaged in recovery services, with a focus on traditionally underserved populations including Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and the 2S/LGBTQ 5 communities in the state.
United Parents was awarded this funding for a 9-month timespan with possibility of funding extension. We are seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee this project.
The ideal project coordinator has experience and knowledge of working with under/un-served families, familiarity with mental/behavioral health, and bilingual in English and Spanish; Trilingual (Mixtec included) will be a plus; and have a deep commitment and dedication to care for vulnerable populations. The Project Coordinator has experience facilitating focus groups and listening to individuals, communities, and families experiencing severe mental illness, serious emotional disturbances, substance use disorder, and trauma induced by social disparities and exclusion such as racism and gender discrimination. Candidate will serve as a central point of contact between executive director, other departments, and funders on day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative matters. Must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams. Travel throughout the State of California is required.
