Position Summary:

• The primary purpose of your position is to assist residents in meaningful engagement. Programs and services will be provided in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, existing policies and procedures, and as may be directed by your supervisor. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist the Wellness Guide in recruiting participants in meaningful experiences.
• Facilitate regularly occurring events, such as art and musical opportunities. 
• Attend trips with Residents.
• Suggest new opportunities for programming. 
• Inventory supplies and ensure they are readily available for use.
• Assists with major events.

Qualifications:

• Education and/or experience in the aging process and health promotion preferred. 
• Preference given to those with two years' experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years, in an activities program in a health care setting.
• Proven ability to successfully implement appropriate and meaningful programming. 
• Must have relevant computer experience. 
• Excellent communication skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population. 
• Required to have a current and valid Michigan Certification for Nursing Assistant (CNA).
