Job Description:

• RN Med/Surg - Day & Nights
• Location: Bristol, TN 37620
• Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract
• Pay Rate/Salary: $70 an hour
• Shifts: Days 7am - 7pm; 36/48 schedule
• Start Date: ASAP
• Positions Available: 04

Responsibilities:

• Assessment and Monitoring: Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' health status upon admission and throughout their stay, including vital signs, physical assessments, and monitoring for any changes in condition.
• Medication Administration: Administering medications as prescribed by physicians, including oral medications, intravenous medications, injections, and other routes, while ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Wound Care Management: Providing wound care for patients with surgical incisions, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and other types of wounds, including assessment, dressing changes, and monitoring for signs of infection or healing.
• Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, self-care techniques, and post-discharge instructions to promote understanding and compliance.
• Care Planning and Implementation: Developing individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team based on patients' needs, diagnoses, and treatment goals, and implementing interventions to achieve optimal outcomes.
• IV Therapy and Fluid Management: Initiating and maintaining intravenous therapy, including insertion of peripheral IV lines, administration of IV fluids and medications, and monitoring for complications such as infiltration or phlebitis.
• Pain Management: Assessing and managing patients' pain using a variety of techniques, including pharmacological interventions, non-pharmacological methods, and patient education on pain control strategies.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with physicians, specialists, other nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, communicate changes in patient status, and ensure continuity of care across shifts and disciplines.
• Emergency Response: Responding to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or hemorrhage, and implementing appropriate interventions to stabilize patients and prevent further deterioration.
• Discharge Planning: Participating in discharge planning processes to facilitate safe transitions of care for patients, including coordinating follow-up appointments, arranging home care services, and providing resources for patients and families.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment in electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Experience & Requirements:

• Active RN license for the state of TN is required
• Minimum one years of RN experience in med/surg preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS from AHA.
• Must be fully vaccinated or valid Covid exemptions
