United Gilsonite Labs is Hiring an IT SPECIALIST Near Scranton, PA

Broad Function and Purpose of Position:

Tasks include the operation and management of our IT hardware and software infrastructure and assisting users with their technical issues. Provide onsite and remote support for our 75 employees in two locations in Scranton, PA and Jacksonville, IL.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Syspro ERP & CRM software customization, testing, and support.
  • EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) tracking and transmission.
  • Maintain and update Microsoft SQL scripts for ERP maintenance.
  • Update SQL data sources embedded in Excel worksheets.
  • Systems monitoring and health checks including physical and virtual servers.
  • Work with third party providers for systems updates and fixes.
  • User account management (Microsoft 365), PC setup, software installation, printer setup, and desk setup for employees.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user hardware and software issues.
  • Completion of help desk tickets within prescribed service level agreements.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Phone system administration, including set up of hard-phones, soft-phones, and audio conferencing.
  • Audio and visual management for video conferencing and presentation sharing equipment.
  • Support for RF Scanners in our Production/Logistics departments.
  • Assisting with the installation of networking devices and servers.
  • Drafting and maintaining user support documentation.
  • Organization and maintenance of data closets, storage spaces, and conference rooms.
  • Purchasing and maintaining an inventory of computers and peripherals.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of work-related experience providing IT support.
  • Desire to continually learn and develop skills.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook and Teams).
  • Basic Microsoft SQL experience.
  • Basic network troubleshooting knowledge including DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required to be successful.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and escalate problems to management when needed.
  • Detail oriented. Execute tasks with high accuracy and reliability.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service focused attitude.
  • Very strong communication skills (written & verbal) and experience communicating to diverse stakeholders.
  • Handle clients professionally during all interactions.
