SUMMARY

Learn selling techniques as well as products and services. Provide customer service with guidance of management and peers. Learn computer systems and software including how to complete a sales transaction.

Training period is 90-days.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Learn selling techniques, offering related items and accessories, driving multiple-unit sales.
2. Learn store products and services and use this knowledge to build sales and enhance the level of customer service provided.
3. Properly executes all systems and point of sale procedures to ensure an efficient transaction.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, fellow associates, and management.
5. After 90-day training, achieve minimum monthly sales goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to learn quickly and have positive interaction with customers.
• Previous sales experience a plus. Will be trained in furniture business.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must read, write, and speak English at a level to converse with the general public. 
• Bilingual is preferred.
• Experience working with computer systems, programs, and email.
• Ability to work productively and effectively under stressful working conditions such as tight time frames, heavy workloads, or conflicting demands.
• Effective communication skills and ability to deal effectively with difficult customers.
• Must demonstrate initiative, the ability to think and take constructive criticism, work independently; and take the lead in forward-thinking, implementation of new ideas or work methods.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates must be at least 21 years of age. Previous sales experience is preferred. Good computer skills. High School diploma or GED.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Most all the time is spent sitting, standing/walking. There is some requirement to lift or handle material/equipment of moderate weight (5-20 pounds).
