United Employment Associates is Hiring a Transportation Manager || Metals Recycling Near , SC

Growing Metals Recycling Operation is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to manage and optimize the transportation operations over their multiple facilities in the Southeast. The Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation, including logistics, fleet management, compliance, and vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our transportation fleet, including dispatching, scheduling, and route planning.
  • Manage a team of drivers and transportation staff, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure high performance and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including production, sales, and procurement teams, to prioritize transportation needs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with transportation vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure compliance with service agreements.
  • Monitor and analyze transportation metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
  • Implement technology solutions, such as transportation management systems (TMS), to streamline operations and improve visibility into transportation activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and drive cost savings.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in transportation and logistics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration preferred.
  • 7 years of Transportation Management experience in the Metals Recycling Industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and drive results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable in DOT State & Federal Regulations.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
