United Employment Associates is Hiring a Project Manager - Heavy Civil Near Chicago, IL

Title: Project Manager
Location: Chicago
Salary: $100k-$130k (DOE)

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing heavy civil projects, with a particular emphasis on civil site work and underground utilities. The role requires strong capabilities in risk analysis related to site and scope, as well as adeptness in managing vendor and subcontractor relations. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with the project team and should have proficiency in utilizing project tracking software to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy civil project management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in heavy civil roadway projects.
  • Proven experience in conducting risk analysis pertaining to site conditions and project scope.
  • Strong ability to manage vendor and subcontractor relations, ensuring timely and quality delivery of services.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with diverse project teams.
  • Proficiency in utilizing project tracking software to monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct thorough risk analysis related to site conditions, scope changes, and external factors, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors, managing contracts and negotiations to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors, to coordinate project activities and resolve issues promptly.
  • Utilize project tracking software to monitor project progress, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones achieved, and any deviations from the project plan.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
