Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Tax Accountant to join our finance department and play a key role in managing tax compliance and strategy within the construction industry. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of tax returns, analyzing tax regulations, and implementing strategies to optimize tax efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our company while working alongside a talented team of professionals.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for the company, including corporate income tax, sales and use tax, property tax, and payroll tax filings.
  • Conduct research on tax laws and regulations relevant to the construction industry and provide recommendations to management on tax planning strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary financial data and documentation for tax compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Assist with tax audits and inquiries by government authorities, including responding to information requests and providing support during examinations.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on potential impacts to the company's tax position and overall financial operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with tax requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably within the construction industry or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Experience with tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar programs) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines effectively.
