RHY Services Coordinator

Basic Functions and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the RHY Director, coordinate the services associated with UAY’s Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Services. In addition, provide individual skill building, advocacy, and case management services to youth experiencing homelessness through a trauma informed, client centered, strengths-based approach.

Characteristic Duties:

1. Provide direct supervision for runaway and homeless youth program staff, including full time staff, peer mentors, and interns, facilitate weekly team meetings, observe staff on visits, and lead regular e-file and hard file reviews.
2. Coordinate both direct referrals and those coming through coordinated entry to distribute them to the team based on caseload openings.
3. Respond during program crises with RHY staff. Help staff problem solve difficult cases and situations and de-escalate crises as needed.
4. Work with team to plan and provide: daily canvasing and drop-in spaces, weekly skill building groups, and monthly outreach events and recreational groups for 3-county service zone.
5. Provide individual skill building, advocacy, and case management services to a caseload of up to 2-3 homeless youth in UAY housing services.
6. Maintain case files, completing required paperwork, case notes, and reports. Ensure that all RHY staff are maintaining files and paperwork to UAY standards.
7. Assist with: narrative sections of grant reports, staff evaluations, RHY site visits, and documentation required by the funding sources for RHY Services and the Community Block Development Grant (CDBG).
8. Coordinate maintenance required for annual city rental inspections for housing units, and emergency contractors for emergency repairs needed at those properties.
9. Collaborate with other local and state programs to strengthen partnerships in serving pregnant and parenting teens, including participation in Local Homeless Coordinating Board, Coordinated Entry, and Runaway and Homeless Youth Grant as opportunities are available and/or required.

Related Duties:

1. Perform other tasks as assigned by the RHY Director
2. Develop and maintain knowledge of resources, services, and opportunities available to youth and families.
3. Remain up to date on FYSB required trainings

Qualifications: Five years prior experience in working with in crisis services, preferably with youth. Preference for experience with homeless youth, and prior experience in program supervision. Valid Driver’s License is required. This program requires staff that take initiative and have excellent problem solving, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills.

Compensation: Full-time position. Some nights and weekends required. Annual compensation of $48,000 to $50,000 depending on experience, and benefits that include health insurance, flex spending, life/disability insurance, generous vacation package, wellness program and retirement.
