Unison Bank is Hiring a Customer Service Agent Near Jamestown, ND

Summary/Objective

Services homeowners, personal liability, automobile, inland marine, motor home, or other personal vehicles and business owners’ policies.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Services homeowners, personal liability, automobile, inland marine, motor home, or other personal vehicles and business owners’ policies.
  • Identifies customer needs and promotes and sells new products to current customers.
  • Processes insurance transactions and handles customer inquiries via phone, e-mail, or in person.
  • Receives, records, and follows up on customer claim statements. Obtains accident reports, police report numbers (as appropriate), and types the Liability Accident Notice or Property Loss Notice.
  • Reviews insurance policies and/or makes sure the customer understands the specific exclusions that may affect the present claim.
  • Advises customer of State requirement to file accident report form with State and assist if necessary. Will send Demand Letter to other party if customer is not at fault. Obtains repair or replacement cost statements and provides all claims information to appropriate insurance company.
  • Prepares vehicle rating information, researches insurers policy and premium data, and furnishes the customer with policy and premium quotations using both manual and automated systems.
  • Reviews policy expiration notices and follows up on non-renewed policies. Contacts customer on Notices of Cancellation and makes maximum effort to insure policies remain in-force with the agency.
  • Prepares binders and applications for insurance and bills customers for initial payment. Prepares general correspondence and maintains correspondence files.
  • Consistently demonstrates appropriate interpersonal communication skills with customers, coworkers, and outside vendors.
  • Follows all Unison Bank policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role. The employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position. The employee is occasionally required to move about inside the office. The employee is regularly required to handle files and documents as well as regularly operate a computer and keyboard. The employee is regularly required to communicate with customers and other staff members and exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and reviewing/inspecting documents.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

No travel required.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months to 2 years of related experience or customer service experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Must be eligible to receive and/or maintain appropriate insurance licensing.

Insurance industry experience.
