Union Tank Car Company - UTLX is Hiring a Janitor Near Altoona, PA
We are looking for a 3rd shift Janitor. Base pay $20.00 per hour, with an additional $1.50 shift differential.
- Maintains the appearance, sanitary condition, and cleanliness of plant buildings and grounds.
- Performs dusting, wiping, polishing, washing, sweeping, and sanitizing.
- Operates equipment such as riding sweepers, lawn mower, and small snow removal equipment.
- Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently.
- Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
- Dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely.
- Ability to understand and follow UTLX operating procedures and policies based on safety and field training.
- Work indoors and outdoors, may be exposed to the elements.
- Physical effort in lifting and carrying materials and attaching rigging devices. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Extends hands and arms in any direction to lift, pull, and carry tools and equipment.
- Kneels, crouches, bends in order to complete tasks.
- Climbs various heights in order to complete tasks.
- Exposed to dirt, fumes, smoke, and heat.
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials or hazardous waste from leaks or spills of these materials while moving or storing them.
