Union Mutual is looking for a professional and experienced Casualty Claims Specialist to join our dynamic team of Claims professionals based in our Montpelier, Vermont office. The Company will consider remote or hybrid work arrangements, but quarterly (or more frequent as needed for training) travel to the Company’s office in Montpelier, Vermont may be required. Responsibilities include analyzing coverage, managing and investigating a wide range of casualty claims, evaluating liability and damages (bodily injury and property damage), reviewing contracts to assess other insurance and indemnification provisions, ensuring adequacy of reserves, and negotiating claim settlements within prescribed authority levels.

Job Requirements:
Must have current adjuster’s licenses in VT, NH, CT, RI with five or more years of experience in the claims industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in investigating and handling complex casualty losses and high-level auto bodily injury claims as well as working with and directing outside counsel activities on litigated files. An associate’s degree or higher, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, negotiation skills, and a high level of critical thinking and judgment required. Some travel required.
