Data Abstractor / Assistant Details

Essential Job Duties :

• Communicates effectively with all members of the patient care team.
• Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and dependability in relationships with co-workers.
• Acts as a patient advocate.
• Enter information into appropriate systems.
• Preparation and support for hospital committee meetings (minutes, logs, and filing).
• Maintains information accurately for department binder system and filing.
• Participate in organization PI as directed.
• Effectively identifies cases to be screened for various indicators taking into consideration the requirements of external agencies.
• Compiles data according to established format.
• Sends accurate data to external agencies by the established deadlines.
• Develops presentations that are well organized, concise, and tailored to the audience.

Qualifications :

• Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in data abstracting and / or coding in a medical office or hospital.
• Minimum of three (3) years' current experience with various computer programs required.
