Union County Orthopaedic Group Division of OrthoNJ is Hiring a Central Sterile Processing Technician Near Linden, NJ

Description

We are looking for a CERTIFIED Sterile Processing Technician to join our ASC team and oversee the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments or supplies in a sterile processing environment.

Sterile Processing Technician responsibilities include retrieving contaminated supplies from medical facilities, maintaining the inventory of sterile equipment and preparing sterile equipment on instrument trays for surgeons and other medical professionals.

Ultimately, you will work with a small team to ensure all surgical and medical equipment in our medical facilities are sterile and safe for patient use.

Requirements

Duties include:

- Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assemble and package surgical instrument trays and sets.
- Inspect instruments for damage or defects and report any issues to supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
- Follow established protocols for infection control and aseptic technique.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure sterile supplies are readily available for procedures.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies.

Experience:

-Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques and equipment.
- Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique.

Skills:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage instrument trays and supplies efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict protocols.
