We are currently seeking an Auto Body Tech who is passionate about the automotive world and believes in delivering exceptional attention to detail and problem solving skills. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our world-class restoration standards, supporting the team with knowledge and know-how, and ensuring a smooth operation of our shop.

Position Overview:

As an Auto Body Technician at Wally’s Speed Shop you will play a crucial role in ensuring the vehicles we create meet the highest standards of quality, aesthetics, and craftsmanship. You will be responsible for complete body restoration. This includes but is not limited to rust repair, sheet metal repair setting gaps, panel alignment, body work and paint prep of American muscle cars, hotrods and classic trucks built to perfection. Also included will be some late model collision and refinishing work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Control: Inspect vehicles for any defects or blemishes, ensuring that all work meets the workshop's high-quality standards. Identify and report any issues for further attention.
• Polishing and Finishing: Utilize a variety of tools and products to bring out the shine and luster of custom paint finishes. Make sure each vehicle's exterior is free from scratches, swirl marks, or any other imperfections.
• Custom Features: Collaborate with other team members to address unique customization features, such as custom paintwork, pinstriping, graphics, or other special requests from clients.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including detailing processes, materials used, and time spent on each project.
• Equipment Maintenance: Properly maintain and clean detailing equipment and tools to ensure their longevity and effectiveness.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve weekly shop goals

Requirements:

• Minimum three years of auto body experience. Classic/vintage car experience a plus
• Knowledgeable and open-minded to new processes
• Strong attention to detail and an eye for perfection.
• Knowledge of various paint correction techniques.
• Proficiency with detailing tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A passion for cars and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
