Unicare Center for Cosmetics & Implant is Hiring an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Near Webster, TX

Job Title: Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA)

An established private dental practice in Webster, Texas, is expanding and needs an Expanded Duty RDA. Our office is dedicated to full mouth rehabilitation via full arch implant-supported prosthesis. We perform both surgical and restorative aspects of treatment at our location and have our own in-house full laboratory. We need an additional EDDA to help us with our growing practice. The ideal candidate will be familiar with All-on-4 procedures and be proficient in digital scanning. Responsibilities would be a full range of clinical, technical, and laboratory tasks within the scope of practice for an RDA in the state of Texas. Generally, an expanded duty prosthodontic RDA has other responsibilities in addition to the regular responsibilities of RDA.

As an expanded duty Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) working in a dental practice that specializes in All-on-4 procedures, complete digital scanning, and has an in-house full laboratory, you will have several additional responsibilities beyond the regular RDA duties allowed by TSBDE.

Generally, expected duties for EDDA in this setting includes the following:

  • Patient Care and Support:
  • Assist patients before, during, and after All-on-4 procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative instructions and care to patients.
  • Assist in patient consultation and education regarding All-on-4 procedures and their aftercare.
  • Digital Scanning and Imaging:
  • Perform complete digital scanning of patients' oral structures for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes.
  • Operate and maintain digital scanning and imaging equipment.
  • Collaborate with the dental team and lab technicians to ensure accurate and efficient digital impressions.
  • In-House Laboratory Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the in-house full laboratory, coordinating patient cases and communicating the treatment plan to the lab technicians.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering prosthetic appliances such as temporary or final dentures for All-on-4 procedures.
  • Help ensure lab work meets the necessary quality and accuracy standards.
  • Surgical Assistance:
  • Assist the dentist during All-on-4 surgical procedures, including providing the necessary tools and equipment.
  • Help manage surgical asepsis and maintain a sterile field.
  • Monitor and respond to patient needs during surgery.
  • Expanded Procedures:
  • Perform expanded duties such as converting prostheses to fixed, Placing & removing the prosthesis and perform minor repairs, placing and removing rubber dams, retraction cords, and fabrication accurate temporary restorations.
  • Take and pour impressions and fabricate temporary crowns and bridges wit Jet Acrylic.
  • Quality Control:
  • Conduct quality control checks on lab work and dental appliances.
  • Verify the fit, form, and function of appliances and prosthetics before they are provided to the patient.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including digital scans and lab orders.
  • Document patient treatment plans, progress, and outcomes in the patient record.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes dentists, lab technicians, and other dental assistants.
  • Participate in case discussions and treatment planning meetings.
  • Continuing Education:
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in All-on-4 procedures, digital scanning technology, and dental assisting practices.
  • Attend training sessions and continuing education courses as required.
  • Other Duties:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the dentist or office manager within the scope of your training and license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.53 - $23.52 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
