Summary:
The Human Resources Records Technician provides administrative and clerical support to the HR department by creating and maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of electronic employment files and information. This position performs a variety of clerical, data entry and support duties to assist with the organization of teammate records and the smooth operation of the department.

Responsibilities:
1.Create and maintain electronic employment files including scanning employment documents (licenses, background check, 1-9, correction actions, and reference reports) and ensuring information is correctly placed in the appropriate sub-folders. Ensures completion of employee verifications and additional required documents prior to hire date. Retrieve other HR documents as needed. Perform audits periodically to ensure document placement is accurate. Assist with document request regarding department audits.
2.Assist with front desk coverage as needed to include answering phone, greeting teammates and visitors, assisting with new hire onboarding, and mail distribution.
3.Assist with coding and processing of department invoices.
4.Perform benefit plan reconciliation to ensure enrollment information is up to date and correct (medical, dental, vision).
5.Maintains security and confidentiality of files and systems by ensuring that all files and office doors are locked at required times.
6.Maintain and coordinate various HR department meetings and other meetings throughout the organization.
7.Other assigned duties and projects as requested.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification
  • None
Experience
  • Minimum one-year advanced clerical and recordkeeping experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources practices preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to organize work and meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to follow proper filing procedures.
  • Must have excellent communication skills in order to professionally greet teammates and visitors and determine their needs in a timely and effective manner.
  • Must demonstrate proper phone etiquette and be able to positively interact with teammates, applicants and visitors.
  • Ability to read, write, prepare and present information in an understandable manner. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
Valid NC Driver’s License: No
If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
