UNC Health is Hiring an Administrative Specialist (Per Diem) Near Chapel Hill, NC

Description

Summary:
Under general supervision, the Administrative Specialist PD will coordinate appointments in the NC Cancer Hospital via our various clinics and the standard established processes. Daily activity includes coordination and overseeing complex scheduling, maintaining daily reports, participates in projects and operation support, assist with development of departmental and program standards, and providing professional assistance to physicians, nursing, clinics, and management staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Float as needed within the Oncology Administrative departments per operational needs.
  • Cross-train and cross coverage with other disease groups as needed.
  • Complex coordination of appointments.
  • Maintain work queues scheduling requests for various disease groups.
  • Answer incoming calls and return calls from voicemail.
  • Participate in department quality improvement activities.
  • Attend daily huddles and monthly staff meetings.

  • High School diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
  • No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
  • Two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience
  • If Bachelor's degree, no years of clerical or administrative experience
  • If Associate's degree, one (1) year of clerical or administrative experience

Provides appropriate support and acts as a resource depending on the situation and capabilities of the employee. Conflict Resolution: Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict between two or more people. Finds agreement on issues and follows through on implementation Solving Problems: Uses logic and intuition to arrive at decisions or solutions to problems that achieve the desired outcome.
