UNC Health Appalachian is Hiring a Practice Manager of Operations Near Boone, NC

About the Role
The Practice Manager of Operations will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our healthcare facilities, optimizing patient care delivery, and driving operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality of care, and patient satisfaction.
  2. Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Provider Practice Network, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  3. Performance Management: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of clinical and administrative staff, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and guidelines, including HIPAA, OSHA, and accreditation requirements.
  5. Financial Management: Develop and manage the annual operating budget for the Provider Practice Network, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
  6. Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across all practice locations.
  7. Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor staff members to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  8. Patient Experience: Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to enhance the patient experience, resolve patient concerns, and implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction.
  9. Technology Integration: Identify and implement technology solutions to streamline operations, enhance communication, and improve workflow efficiency.
  10. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments within UNC Health Appalachian to optimize coordination of care, share best practices, and achieve organizational goals.
  11. Community Engagement: Represent UNC Health Appalachian in the local community, participate in community outreach initiatives, and foster positive relationships with patients, families, and community stakeholders.
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt position that is benefits eligible after a 60-day waiting period.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in healthcare management, with a proven track record of success in operations management.
Required Registration/License/Certification
  • Certification in healthcare management or related field preferred (e.g., CMPE).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association is required at time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in healthcare IT systems and software applications.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Physical Demands
  • The position may require sitting for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of light objects may be required.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
  • The role primarily operates in an office environment but may require occasional travel between practice locations.
  • Work hours may vary and could include evenings or weekends depending on operational needs.
  • Exposure to standard office conditions, including noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and lighting.
