Objective of Machine Operator:
Efficiently and safely setup, operate, trouble shoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment while meeting or exceeding production and quality standards. Focus on safety, continuous improvement and housekeeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains safe work environment by ensuring all safety rules, regulations and practices (JSO’s) are being followed
Efficiently operates the machine while meeting all production, quality and safety standards
Demonstrates knowledge of parts
Visually inspects parts for material or production defects (SOP defined)
Performs minor servicing and maintenance and reports major problems to Supervisor immediately
Report potentially unsafe conditions to Supervisor immediately
Report production and/or performance related issues immediately
Perform end of shift housekeeping and next day preparation
Monitor own work for excellence – ask for training as needed
Attention to detail and follow through
Treats all co-workers with respect, keeps commitments, works with integrity, models organizational values
Follow policies, procedures and support organizational goals and objectives
Assist all team members as needed
Consistently at work and on time
Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
Ability to work without close supervision
Must be able to understand verbal and written directives
Must have manual dexterity skills
Must be able to work scheduled shift as well as overtime & weekends as required
Education and/or experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Reasoning Ability
Ability to deductively problem solve
Ability to utilize general math in problem solving
Ability to retain focus on one to two tasks simultaneously
Ability to deal with standardized productions situations with occasional or minor variables
Other Skills and Abilities may be required as roles evolve within Unarco Material Handling, Inc.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50 pounds, repetitively, at a reasonable rate, during a normal work day.
