Faculty Part-Time Temporary
The position of Upward Bound Instructoris a Pooled Position and applications will be reviewed on an as needed on-going basis. Please note this is a temporary position for Summer Academy.
Are you interested in pushing the boundaries of what education could be for a dynamic community college in a beautiful rural setting? If yes, then this is the position for you!
As a Part-Time Non-Credit Faculty Upward Bound Instructor, you will be hired for Summer Academy. Summer Academy includes the following key dates: 1) Summer Academy classes run Monday-Thursday, June 26-July 20. 2) Final presentations, July 19-20. Every summer, the program designs themed-based classes in several areas. The Upward Bound program is looking for engaging instructors who will develop hands-on, interactive project-based classes. Upward Bound program is a federally funded grant that provides supplemental academic instruction and the advising needed to get low-income, first-generation college students into the college of their choice. Hands-on, experiential learning is critical, and classes that involve service learning are encouraged. The program is looking for instructors with knowledge in science, language arts, math, and more. New classes and offerings can be developed based on the instructor. Class sizes range from 10 – 20 students.
