DRIVER EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR: WOLF CREEK JOB CORPS

Faculty Part-Time

The position of Driver Education Instructor, Wolf Creek Job Corpsis Open Until Filled to create a qualified instructor pool.

As the Part-Time Driver Education Instructor, Wolf Creek Job Corps, you will be a part of Umpqua Community College’s (UCC) education program at Wolf Creek Job Corps (WCJC) near Glide, Oregon. This position is responsible for providing instruction in driver education including both classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training. The Driver Education Instructor works an alternating schedule of 2-3 days per week. This position is funded through an agreement between UCC and WCJC and is contingent on continued funding of the agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Eligible for Driver Training Instructor certification including all of the following (if not already certified):
    1. 21 years of age or older
    2. Possess a valid Oregon driver’s license
    3. Have had valid driving privileges for at least 5 years with a clean driving record
    4. Willing to commit to a total of 120 hours of training including full-day weekend classes
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar office software applications
  • Experience with adults or young adults in an educational setting
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher
  • Possess current Oregon Driver Training Instructor certification
  • Teaching experience in Adult Basic Education or similar program
