About the Role:

The Program Manager oversees moderately complex long-term programs for bank division(s) and/or business line(s) in support of enterprise strategy. Responsible for delivery of program components within scope and budget. Ensures results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.

  • Defines or helps define program scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. May fully oversee lifecycles of programs of varying scope, including ideation, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Develops and contributes to a detailed plan to monitor and track progress. Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation.
  • Implements and monitors production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Measures program performance using appropriate tools and techniques, and reports progress to stakeholders. May provide training to others regarding features and benefits of the program(s).
  • Resolves problems, completes audits, identifies trends, determines system improvements, and implements change to deliver results on-time and within scope and budget.
  • Monitors and meets financial objectives by supporting budget preparation, adhering to cost constraints, and adjusting expenditures, as needed.
  • Coordinates internal resources and negotiates agreements with third parties/vendors.
  • Manages relationships with clients and all stakeholders, possibly including senior-level managers across functions, as well as executive leadership.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.
  • Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

About You:

  • 2-4 years of program/project management experience in relevant program area, preferably in a banking or financial services firm, required
  • Advanced relationship management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of products and services in program area.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven delivery of solutions to complex organizational challenges.
  • Proven experience creating and overseeing programs from ideation to continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules.
  • Proficient with personal computer and related software packages such as Word and Excel.

Work Style:

Umpqua Bank offers a Flexible Workplace Program and this opportunity comes with the Flex Office work style which is working in office from a designated company location three days weekly with flexibility to work remotely up to two days weekly.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $74,418.00 to $127,574.40 and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
