About UMOM New Day Centers: Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of services for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, rebuild lives, and end homelessness. With an annual operating budget of $22 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, supportive services, and housing programs to families and single women experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM serves over 15,000 unique individuals across all our services annually, including families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub.

Position Description: The responsibility of the Housekeeping Associate is to ensure the cleanliness of the UMOM facility to include cleaning of offices, client rooms, and all common areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares rooms for occupancy and notifies facilities lead.
• Prepares linens for shelter rooms, including but not limited to laundering.
• Maintains the cleanliness of offices.
• Maintains the overall cleanliness of program areas.
• Maintains the overall cleanliness of all common areas, including but not limited to grounds and trash, .
• Complies with established agency policies and procedures.

Qualification and Competency Requirements:

Experience and Education

• Prior cleaning experience in a commercial or residential capacity
• Ability to read and write English and/or Spanish

Computer skills

• Familiarity with, or ability to learn, basic applications such as Microsoft Word and Outlook for email communication and documentation responsibilities

Compliance

• Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one.
• Successfully pass the drug screening process.
• Successfully clear the Central Registry background check process.

• This position is very active and requires remaining in a stationary position and/or moving for the majority of the workday. The person in this position frequently operates equipment, ascends/descends stairs and ladders, and positions self to accomplish essential tasks, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and reaching all day. The employee must frequently move and transport items over 50 pounds. The duties of this job require regular exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.

Work Schedule: 6-2am or 2-10pm with some flexibility available
