UMC of El Paso is Hiring a Service Line Nurse Coordinator (Surgical Hospital) Near El Paso, TX

  1. Job Summary

Provides support to the Department and to the Nurse Managers for the Managerial aspects of specialized areas of practice within the Operating Room. Manages service line surgery schedule. Orders and maintains Inventory as it pertains to the Service Line. Maintains and updates OR/Hospital protocols related to surgery. Reports quality data as needed.

Provides clinical patient care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Utilizes knowledge of professional nursing proactive in providing age-appropriate care based on scientific principles, nursing standards of practice, and standards of patient care for patient population.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

One year of experience as a Registered Nurse required, preferably in a hospital based acute care setting.

License/Registration/Certification:

Current TX/Compact RN License required.

CPR required

ACLS required

PALS required

Education and Training:

Bachelor Degree in Nursing required.

Meets unit-specific education requirements as per Policy NC-A-7.4 (Unit Specific Education Requirements).

Skills:

  1. Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing.
  2. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
  3. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
  4. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
  5. Ability to supervisor and evaluate Associates.
  6. Ability to foster and facilitate effective working relationships and team building.
  7. Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
  8. Willingness to accept and manage change.
  9. Ability to analyze situations and solve problems.
  10. Skilled in the use of computer systems and related software applications.
  11. Knowledge of Surgical terminology equipment, materials, policies/procedures.
  12. Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  13. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
  14. Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
  15. Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
  16. Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
  17. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  18. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
