Job Description:
The Occupational Therapist I functions independently and consistently in the delivery of quality care to occupational therapy patients in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, department policies and procedures, and standards of practice. Evaluates patients, plans and implements treatment programs, and documents all treatment accurately. Works in conjunction with other members of the health care team to ensure patient needs are met. Educates patients and families. Provides care to patients of varying ages with age related needs.
Required Skills:
1. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and procedures.
2. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Good problem-solving ability to determine best methods to address patient problems.
Required Experience:
Work Experience:
One year of Occupational Therapist experience preferred.
License/Registration/Certification:
Current license as Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas; or obtained within three months of employment.
Current CPR required.
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent education if trained outside of U.S required.
