The Financial Analyst is part of the Finance team that focuses on the support and financial planning for all lines of business throughout UMB. Within the Finance environment, this team interacts with internal partners and line of business leaderships to evaluate financial trends to identify key business areas to drive growth or cost saving opportunities. With our robust training to provide extensive UMB and financial knowledge, the Finance team partners with lines of business leaders to assist them with understanding their business unit financials.
The Financial Analyst have a specific and impactful function for UMB growth to provide strategic thinking and financial planning for all lines of business. The Finance team are subject matter experts that assist to provide research for financial and predictive modeling for growth initiatives.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for working with Financial Systems team members to help line of business leaders understand their monthly financial results for their business unit. Through creating financial forecasting, linking financial targets to strategy, and creating a monthly business letter that includes benchmarking comparisons and performance analysis, this position provides insight for areas of business growth and cost saving opportunities. The Financial Analyst also presents their research and suggestions to leadership in a digestible and relevant manner. You can expect a fast-paced environment with unpredictable scenarios while maintaining flexibility and adaptability to line of business needs. Our Financial Analyst are motivated to be self-driven and enjoy the challenge of learning new skills while controlling the progression of their career. This role focuses on providing the best financial solutions for all of UMB.

How you'll spend your time:
  • You will use problem solving and analytical thinking skills to determine the drivers of a financial variance in a gl account
  • You will need attention to detail when creating reports to ensure each analysis still foots to the totals and other comparable reporting
  • You will need strong communication skills to convey how a business is doing against prior periods or targets in a clear manner
  • You will to have to be flexible in day to day responsibilities due to monthly or quarterly reporting along with adhoc requests for business leaders

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management (with emphasis in Accounting) OR related area OR equivalent work experience
  • 1 year finance or related experience
Compensation Range:
Minimum: $38,910.00 - Maximum: $90,090.00
The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB's standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
