Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for part-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Respite RN working 2nd shift at our Worcester site.

Worcester Respite is a 3-bed DMH referred program. Respite clients reside on the unit for a set amount of time agreed upon by the treatment team and work towards their individualized treatment goals. Goals often include stabilization, housing, employment, and continued sobriety. Treatment team meetings are held with community providers, family and support systems, and Respite supervisors to assist individuals in meeting their treatment goals. Clients on the Respite program are encouraged to attend day programs, appointments in the community and to maintain daily structure.

  • Complete medical assessments of consumers. Works with individual consumers as a smoking cessation counselor.
  • May lead educational oriented groups about medications and medical needs and concerns for both consumers and staff. Provide educational support to increase knowledge base of consumers and staff regarding medical conditions. Directs activities centered around primary prevention which may include organization, engagement in and transportation to physical activities with consumers.
  • Contribute to development of treatment planning process particularly as related to medical issues and self-medication skills development and medical areas.
  • Ensure healthful menu planning and nutrition education for staff and consumers.
  • Report to Program Coordinator any personnel action required to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Attend teams, rounds, staff meetings, Infection Control Committee, case conferences, and collaborate with other providers as needed.
  • Medical Assessments need to be written to meet standards and are submitted in a timely fashion. Reviews medical records on all of the Respite consumers.
  • Provide ongoing risk management. Coordination and support to program staff and consumers. Assist residential counselors in advocating for the consumers' medical needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in order to provide quality medical and medication service in Respite Beds.
  • Respect diverse views and approaches, demonstrate Standards of Respect, and contribute to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
  • Grade N08: Acute Care RN: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Previous clinical experience working with substance abuse and mental health required.

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and ability to contribute to team objectives required.
