Essential Responsibilities:

* Demonstrate a functional knowledge of counseling skills and models of family therapy interventions.

* Understand the fundamental treatment of addiction and mental health issues.

* Conduct mental status exams and prepare a clearly written request for psychiatric consultation

* Understand gender specific interventions and concepts of culturally competent practice.

* Conduct client evaluations including bio-psychosocial assessment, diagnostic formulation, and initial treatment recommendations.

* Conduct assessments of the physical and mental health needs of all family members in the program.

* Offer group and individual education and counseling specific to pregnancy and parenting for all pregnant, postpartum, and parenting residents (unrelated to current custody). Facilitate psychoeducation and rehabilitation groups using standard group techniques. Meet with clients for individual counseling to assist in atta9ining treatment goals.

* Help pregnant and postpartum residents prepare for and navigate any Department of Children and Families (DCF) involvement and assist them in the DCF process and other involved providers, with the resident's written consent and participation whenever feasible.

* Write treatment plans including client's strengths with behaviorally based goals and objectives. Document progress of goals and objectives in progress notes.

* Maintain productivity standards required by your supervisor and the agency.

* Make referrals to clients for agency resources and outside resources.

* Maintain confidentiality

* Complies with established division and program policies, procedures, and objectives.

* Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and trainings as required or directed, on time and for the entire duration.

* Participates in all committee meetings assigned. (to include coordination of programs including: HIV/Aids coordination, Tobacco coordination and. Access coordination.

* Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.

* Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.

* Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors

* Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance following agency policy. Hours may include weekend rotation and evening hours as assigned.

* Participate in utilization management, employ CQI principals and assist in accreditation process.

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for extended periods of time.

* Must be able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds for various needs

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

* Master's degree and holds an LMHC, LMFT, LICSW license, LADCI is desired.

* Current valid United States driver's license and ability to provide registered and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients.

* CPR, First Aid certifications must be completed within the first six months after hire date.

* Must be able to complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Background Check) and a DCF/CPS (Department of Families Adam Walsh/Child Protective Services background check) and meet Agency requirements.
