Umass Lowell is Hiring a Program coordinator Near Lowell, MA

General Summary of Position :

The Program Coordinator, Undergraduate Programs is responsible for providing academic guidance and support to undergraduate students in the Manning School of Business.

The Program Coordinator will ensure Manning undergraduates receive prompt and quality support in addressing requests related to various academic processes and questions (e.

g., program change, petitions, DIG forms, academic standing appeals, career-connected experiences, etc.), coordinating the efforts of professional advisors and respective department Directors of Student Success.

The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Dean and Dean in supporting the success of current undergraduate students and in the recruitment of new students.

The Program Coordinator will also serve as a point person to support the success of undergraduate transfer students and first-generation students in the college.

The Program Coordinator will assist the Associate Dean in managing student organization activities as well as student success initiatives and events in the college.

Essential Job Duties :

Student Success, Engagement, and Retention Initiatives :

  • Provide academic guidance and support to undergraduate students, addressing inquiries related to academic processes such as study abroad review, financial aid requests, and academic standing appeals
  • Work closely with Professional Advisors and Student Success Directors to coordinate activities
  • Work with Associate Dean in ensuring that the undergraduate students in the college receive advising, career guidance, and mentoring support required to be successful
  • Assist in the oversight and management of student leadership organization activities, ensuring they contribute to student engagement and success
  • Serve as a point of contact and support for special student groups such as undergraduate transfer students, first-generation college students, honors students
  • Plan and conduct semester-based activities that support successful advising and enrollment for undergraduate activities (e.

g., support faculty advisors, review course enrollment requests, etc.)

  • Assist the college with retention and student success / engagement / alumni events
  • Assist with encouragement and celebration of student success (e.g., Dean’s List congratulatory letters, BGS honors society induction)
  • Partner with cross-university groups such as Admissions, Event Services, Student Activities and Leadership, Dining / Catering, etc. when appropriate

College Outreach and Recruitment Activities :

  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean and Dean in efforts to attract and recruit new undergraduate students to the Manning School of Business
  • Engage in outreach activities aimed at increasing the visibility and attractiveness of the undergraduate programs to prospective students Research and target / cold call high school educators and administrators to establish a pipeline based upon Institutional Research data, high schools’ business curricula, and demographicsSteward relationships with K-12 educatorsWork with the Associate Dean and Dean to develop / market summer programs
  • Management of college recruitment events including Open House, Welcome Day, Junior Preview Day, High School visits, and other such events for high schools and community colleges Oversee event planning : logistics and scheduling, budget tracking, print and online promotional material.

Successfully partner with cross-university groups such as individual departments, faculty members, Admissions, Event Services, Dining / Catering, etc.

Develop and conduct post-event surveys for continued event improvement

  • Coordinate Transfer Registration and Transfer Welcome Day events for recruiting transfer students
  • Manage and coordinate yield activities such as shadow days, annual admittance congratulation letters from the Dean, etc.
  • Provide additional support activities as needed for other Admissions recruitment (e.g., Taste of UML, etc.)

Management / Operational Duties / Support for Undergraduate Programs :

  • Support all student inquiries / petitions / approvals (e.g., academic petitions, DIG form questions, graduation approvals at Dean’s level).
  • Coordinate / support academic appeals hearing, and Satisfactory Academic Progress hearings
  • Responsible for program change (major, concentration, minor, certificate) approvals and student mentoring
  • Support communication with department chairs and faculty regarding student challenges and successes
  • Conduct periodic data reporting and analysis on student demographics, academic progress, and related metrics for timely interventions

Minimum Qualifications (Required) :

  • Masters degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience

Will consider candidates with Bachelors degree and 6 years of related experience

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Demonstrated experience supporting student success teams in higher education
  • Computer skills that include knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Evidence of successful event planning experience

Additional Considerations :

  • Working knowledge of Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) standards.
  • Working knowledge of concepts related to assurance of learning and learner progression
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with enterprise educational software such as the SIS student information, Salesforce, Tableau and other analytics portals, Summit reporting system etc. desirable.
