Accounting - Intern

Summary: provides assistance to the Accounting Manager and team. Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shadowing members of the accounting department as they perform their duties.
• Assist with research, data entry recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
• Work with team preparing financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, invoices and other documents.
• Work with company CRM and/or ERP software programs.
• Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
• Work with the team of compile and analyze data, track information and support company clients and vendors.
• Additional activities and group projects as determined by the intern program.

Education and/or Experience:

• Currently enrolled in a college program focusing on accounting or business or one year related experience.
• Completed college coursework in accounting or finance preferred.

Skills:

• Aptitude for math and proficiency with computers.
• Exposure to or knowledge of company CRM and/or ERP systems.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with customers, clients, vendors and other employees.
• Must have a high level of accuracy, efficiency and responsibility.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to fulfill the essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and in a safe manner. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs, stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
