ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment. Maintain buildings and processes in the manufacture of outdoor furniture in a safe effective manner. The sole function of the maintenance group is to support production.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded upon to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Coordinates trouble shooting, analysis, repair(s), and effective communications.
  • Supervisory no direct supervisory role, there is indirect supervision (non-disciplinary) when working with other groups (ex: outside vendor, internal when other groups such as production is reassigning labor to support a maintenance objective/project)
  • Reporting: safety concerns, work orders, purchase requests, part number & descriptions, project information, required parts or vendor support
  • Manager or Supervisor may assign other duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Requires a broad knowledge and effective problem resolution(s)/solution(s) of 3 phase power systems and control circuits, PLC programming mechanical repair and maintenance (hydraulics, gas heating systems (maxxon, incinomite, eclipse and controls) as may be acquired in three years formalized program including blueprint reading and interpretation plus up to three years extensive experience in a variety of maintenance trades. Welding; MIG, TIG would be a valued skill.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write standard documentation. Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employee s of the organization. Purchase request for correct parts and collaborating with suppliers to establish required parts /part number/description /quantities, completion of purchase request.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and metric. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
  • Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include various hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment, welding equipment, plumbing equipment, and various measuring equipment.
  • Must maintain and provide basic mechanics common hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screw drivers, pry bars, Allen wrenches, multi meter, voltage, amperage, ohms, etc. AC-DC as applicable) torx, etc.) specialty tools (such data loggers, plc’s, thermo imaging camera supplied by company if needed). Damaged tools used correctly will be replaced by the company, if not available an equal will be substituted/ furnished.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and production related processes.
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions, operating difficulties, and resolve /support resolution(s).
  • Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production.
  • Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining, or replacement of purchased parts.
  • Perform skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts; adjust feed and limit mechanisms, gibs, and ways.
  • Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment to involve dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations.
  • Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and the grounds.
  • Assist to determine the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units.
  • Maintain required maintenance logs and files.
  • Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.
  • Satisfy the required hours of the department, required hours include scheduling/re-scheduling to support production by performing assignment on “off/nonstandard “hours.
  • Repair, installation, maintenance, trouble shooting on gas fired systems, controls, and equipment.
  • PLC programming and trouble shooting
  • Compresses air systems and related subsystems such as driers, filters, separators & delivery system (piping, flow controls, valves & fittings.
  • New processes/new to existing processes will be considered part of the essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Additional certification(s), training ex; welding, hvac, plc programing etc. documentation required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to speak effectively with employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift minimum of fifty pounds.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach above the shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and farsighted vision.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the manufacturing environment such as steel toe shoes, bump cap, air supplied hood, and eye protection. The employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions.

The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate to loud, and hearing protection is required in specific area
