Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of reconstruction projects and providing detailed proposals to clients. This is a crucial role in our organization as it directly impacts project profitability and client satisfaction.
Duties: - Conduct thorough analysis of project plans, specifications, and requirements - Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates - Utilize construction management and project management principles to develop comprehensive cost estimates - Control costs by evaluating materials, labor, and equipment needed for each project - Research and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing -Communicate with insurance adjusters and representatives to submit estimates and negotiate for approval - Advocate for the company's interests while maintaining positive relationships with insurance partners - Provide supporting documentation and evidence to justify estimated costs - Prepare detailed proposals outlining scope of work, timelines, and cost breakdowns - Utilize Xactimate software to create accurate estimates - Review contracts and identify potential risks or discrepancies - Monitor project progress and update estimates as needed throughout the reconstruction process.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred - Minimum 5 years experience in reconstruction estimating or related role - Strong knowledge of cost control principles and practices - Proficient in using Xactimate estimating software - Xactimate Level 2 Certified - Familiarity with insurance claims processes and regulations - Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors - Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
