**Description**

**Summary:**

Schedules work by setting up jobs, coordinates employee activities and operates various types of equipment in order to meet customer demands by performing the following duties.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Performs all duties of Lead Machinist.

* Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, and scheduling of work in the cell, directing employees, resolving problems, and writing and giving employee performance reviews and disciplinary contacts.

* Evaluates daily customer demands and prioritizes jobs to meet those demands.

* Tracks the progress of each manufacturing order so that customer demands are met.

* Coordinates machine maintenance, if needed.

* Confers with engineers, production personnel or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

**Qualifications:**

* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

**Education/Experience:**

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); VoTech Trade school graduate preferred. Completed Apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three years at Lead Machinist Level.

**Language Ability:**

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and machine drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to present numerical data effectively and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

**Math Ability:**

* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs

**Reasoning Ability:**

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations.

**Computer Skills:**

* Possess basic computer skills and knowledge of Word Processing and Spreadsheet software; able to interpret and use shop floor control and SPC software.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Depth perception.
