At Ultimate Sustainability, your work truly makes a difference in the lives of others! As a behavior therapist, you will be interacting 2:1 with young adults diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder/other behaviors and Developmental delays, while engaging in fun activities to help build their skills and social awareness. Our day program is open Monday through Friday 8 am-4 pm, so your weekends and evenings are spent at home. Join our growing team at one of our locations in Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Plymouth Minnesota!
Job responsibilities
Paired 2:1 with client, we assist with increasing independence, skill development, safety, sensory processing, communication, and other areas.
Passionate about individuals with special needs and enjoys making a difference in the lives of individuals and families.
Commitment to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion with a focus on culturally responsive practice, internal self-awareness, and reflection.
Follow the behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the individual’s personalized treatment plan.
Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
Focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing interfering behaviors.
Provide positive based input, suggestions, and feedback to company team members regarding the individuals served and their written programs/protocols.
Utilize safe and appropriate procedures to ensure the safety of the individuals we serve.
Commitment and drive to provide an individual with an emotional and physical sense of safety.
To work well within a highly collaborative team.
This includes a high level of communication, adaptability, and creativity.
Requirements
18 years or
High school diploma/GED.
Ability to pass DHS background check and fingerprints required.
Reliable transportation and current divers license/auto insurance are required.
Helpful but not required
Experience with individuals with diverse needs, autism, mental health diagnoses are highly preferred but not required.
CPR/first aid AED certification.
You will be required to maintain the training and competency commensurate with the position and the people you work with as defined by Ultimate Sustainability LLC. Training will be provided by US and per DHS rules and regulations once on-boarded.
