UKG is seeking a motivated Senior Software QA Engineers to help develop best-in-class HR, payroll, and workforce management solutions that help organizations unlock happier outcomes for all. As a Seniorr Software QA Engineer, you will contribute directly to the goals of our product teams and help innovate and evolve our processes and product portfolio to meet our customers ever-changing needs. You will play a key role in the development of new software products and features with a keen eye for detail. You will have the opportunity to work side by side with other members of the engineering team (other Software Engineers, Test Engineers, and SREs) and members from UX and Product Management to build the best-in-class products in the market.
•Define and implement the overall testing strategy for projects, including test levels (unit testing, integration testing, system testing, etc.) and types (functional, non-functional, regression, etc.)
•Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of quality goals and requirements
•Lead efforts in observability, test automation, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated test scripts
•Communicate with team members to clarify requirements and overcome obstacles to meet the team goals
•Define and track key quality metrics to measure the effectiveness of testing efforts
•Support internal customers in the adoption, use andtroubleshootingof ourservices
•Provide leadership and mentorship to the QA team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
•Collaborate with security experts to address and mitigate security risks
•Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues that are escalated to the engineering team
•Foster a culture of continuous improvement in testing processes and methodologies
•Manage the defect lifecycle, including identification, logging, tracking, observability and resolution of issues
•Participate in standups, architecture reviews and planning meetings.
This position requires a hybrid in-office work arrangement with the ability to work 3 days per week in a UKG office (Weston - FL)
Qualifications
Basic qualifications:
•More than 5 years of engaging and working with cross-functional enterprise level software testing projects using Agile development methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum
•Minimum 3 years of experience with automation tools
•Minimum 3-year experience with IntelliJ, Junit
•Experience building an automation framework from scratch
•Experience programming with Java, shell
•Experience interacting with RESTful API and skilled in Rest Assured, Postman (or similar)
•Experience working with MongoDB and MySQL
•Solid understanding of GIT
•Knowledge of microservices architecture
•Experience building event-driven, reactive microservices with Kafka Streams
Preferred qualifications:
•Knowledge of basic software engineering practices surrounding coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, metrics and observability
•Exposure to GCP, Kubernetes, and microservices
•Experience with CQRS nice to have
•Familiar with JIRA and TestRail
•Highly effective communication, both oral and written
•Has written multiple test frameworks from scratch
•Experience with Okta/Auth0 products
