Responsibilities:

Patient Related:

• Provide direct patient care for assigned patients, including performing all technical aspects of dialysis procedures.
• Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on flow sheets.
• Educate patients and families on end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications.
• Assist with emergency operational procedures and administer intravenous medication as needed.
• Perform pre, interim, and post-treatment reviews of patient condition.

Technical:

• Operate dialysis-related equipment safely and provide minor troubleshooting when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in the dialysis facility treatment area.
• Ensure compliance with Bloodborne Pathogen Control Policies and operate emergency equipment effectively.

Staff Related:

• Participate in staff meetings and patient care plan meetings.
• Acquire knowledge in current dialysis practices through scheduled in-service classes.
• Act as a resource person for other staff members and assist with care plan coordination.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
• Current appropriate State licensure
• One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Hemodialysis and ICU experience preferred but not required
• Successful completion of CPR Certification and a training course in hemodialysis
• Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short-staffing
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
