We are looking for Senior Logistics Analyst - Inbound Transportation to oversees data processing for freight costs in the Logistics department for a Supply and Distribution Firm, utilizing Access databases and analyzing shipment history. Responsibilities include reporting on international and domestic transportation expenses, maintaining transportation expenses through web reporting, and serving as a subject matter expert on Access database processes. The role also involves participating in special projects related to cost studies as required by management.
· Location: Fountain Valley, CA (Hybrid)
· Payrate: $35-$42 DOE
· Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
· Requirement: MS Office Suite Assessment. Proficiency in Access | SQL and QMF
Responsibilities:
· Download and analyze data: Retrieve and analyze Access and Amos data warehouse data for projects and management reporting.
· Monthly cost analysis: Administer the monthly cost analysis for management review. Provide ad hoc reports and cost studies as needed.
· RFP bid processes: Administer Carrier RFP bid processes and routing management summaries. Recommend carriers/vendors based on service/cost comparisons.
· Database management: Create and maintain new and existing Access databases for HMA and KMA data.
Key Performance Indicators:
· Maintain and create transportation databases and analyze all inbound and outbound freight expenses.
· Audit 3rd party freight payment data for accuracy.
· Update funding documents from the freight payment service website to internal Access databases for HMA and KMA data.
· Provide weekly/monthly summaries of freight costs versus sales for review.
· Advise the freight auditor of weekly files for potential cost savings.
· Administer weekly/monthly freight payment reporting, including accruals.
· Run and distribute monthly Dealer reports.
· Act as a subject matter expert for Carlisle, pulling and analyzing data as required.
· Run Amos data warehouse queries for reporting and special projects.
· Run cost estimate simulations based on sales and purchase projections, assisting in Business Planning.
· Administer the carrier or vendor RFP process, providing management with cost analysis, transit times, and other related RFP data.
· Recommend carriers/vendors based on service/cost comparisons.
· Work with the Systems Department to improve internal data processes.
· Act as a department subject matter expert for MCloud and new systems designs/implementation.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years in logistics activities, 2 years in analysis, preferably within the automotive industry. Strong working knowledge of SQL and QMF.
· Skills: Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and MS Access, including the ability to create and maintain databases.
· Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills.
· Data management: Previous experience with importing data files and strong data processing capabilities.
· Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
