Our Client who is an American privately held company that operates in the prepaid, gift card and payments industries is currently seeking a remote settlement account.

Position Overview:

The Settlement Accountant, will play a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the integrity of our accounts. This position involves accurate and timely processing of system interface files, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end accounting. The Settlement Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile system interface data files, addressing data discrepancies, missing accounting rules, and correcting errors.
• Identify and prepare necessary period-end accounting entries.
• Conduct SOX compliant audits in GL Posting files, Commission rates in Business System.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide SOX audit findings.
• Determine month-end accruals for unbilled transactions.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts impacted by the processes managed by this position.
• Make adjustments to business partner accounts in business systems.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in transaction processing in business systems, demonstrating strong reconciliation skills and the ability to work with large quantities of data.
• Proficient in Excel & SQL.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP Accounting Principles and double-entry accounting.
• Experience in Financial Reporting.
• Superior organization skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with technical and non-technical team members.
• Patient, diplomatic, and collaborative when working with cross-functional teams.
• Possess a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and resourcefulness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision under rigid time constraints.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business required. Accounting and/or Finance experience is a plus.
